All about us

The Tayet team consists of only two people: mother and son. 
Both born and raised in a quiet area of Berlin/Germany.

We both strive to change the world with what we do and therefore building up Tayet together seemed pretty logical to us.

We design and produce each product with our own two hands and put all our effort and time into it. Also everything you see on social platforms, and our Website we’ve carefully created ourselves.

The story of Tayet goes way back into the past.

1982, when 16 year old Daniela started her first big crocheting project, a chapter begun, that nobody could predict.

At this time she was trained as a coiffeur which she continued until 1989.

She eventually built up her own coiffeur saloon and successfully ran it until 1999.

Finally she decided to put her time mainly into knitting projects she really enjoyed and also started to crochet a bit.

Inspired by a beach bag look and a revolutionary slogan: “Jute instead of plastic” she looked someday for a jute bag that fit her expectations and decided to create it herself when she didn’t find anything.

The time went on and the Jute bags were getting better and better, introducing features like the long lasting leather straps and finally the linen inlay.

Inspired and fascinated by the products Paul started to ask for a very specific duffle bag, which should become the starting point of a beautiful partnership.

Since both always had lots of expectations of their own work, Paul designed the inlay to fit his needs while Daniela put her efforts into the Jute material of the duffle bag.

It turned out that he took the entire measurements wrong and the duffle bag would become a huge travel bag.

Instead of taking that failure as a defeat, both decided to take the whole thing apart and make it again, this time better.

This process of trial and error and optimisation would become the foundation of the partnership and one of Tayets core elements.
